Favorable geographical location
Sevastopol lies on the southwest of Crimean peninsula (southern Ukraine) at one width with the Italian Milan and the French Lyons. Located at the Black sea coast and surrounded with Crimean mountains, it has favorable environmental conditions of the Mediterranean type that are characterized with early spring coming and very warm autumn which is called "velvet season" . Except of a mild climate Sevastopol has also convenient geographical transit position and favorable natural conditions. On the sea the city borders on Russia and Georgia as well as Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria. The non-freezing, deep-water bays closed from winds (more than 30 of them), have well equipped base on repair of courts and ships. It helps to create a high potential in trade development and cargo handling. There is well equipped berthing infrastructure in the city which extent is more than 30 km.
Sevastopol is the only non-freezing city-port in Ukraine; its bays have a natural depth on a waterway of more than 17 meters. The city borders with 12 sea states in 600 km zone that says about potentially high profitableness sea cargo and passenger transportations that is one of significant factors of a convenient location. The length of marine coastline - 152 km, state sea line - 143 km, overland border - 106 km. The area of territory of Sevastopol makes about 1080 square km, from which 216 square km is the sea bays area. Sevastopol lies at 1050 kilometers" distance from the capital of Ukraine – Kiev.

The main highways - Simferopol - Sevastopol - Yalta links the city with all Crimean regions. There is also a ramified local and state network of convenient means of transport. The maximum productivity of rail handling - 600 carriages in a day. The branch lines and terminals leads to the majority of bays and jetties that allows to carry out the reloading of goods. Sevastopol has two large airdromes which accept transport planes and passenger aircrafts of any type. The airdrome "Belbek - Sevastopol" is possible to transfer over 500 tons of loads and service to 500 people a day
